An Inspiring Theater Play
Many people usually realize their dreams after getting inspired by others in various artistic fields such as arts, music, drama etc. this was my case back when I was about 12 when I attended a theatrical drama at Auckland Castle. I didn’t love much stuff about drama by then and I didn’t feel like attending. However, the thought that I would be left home alone in the evening when everybody went to watch the drama made me decided to go out with the rest of the family.
My dad particularly loved theatrical performances since his youth days and most of the weekends he would go to the theater in the company of my mum. However, that Wednesday evening, he had also bought tickets for my sister and me. He had praised the play that was taking place that evening and believed that it was a must-watch. Since I didn’t have any other options, I went together with them. He bought us some candy and together we entered the enormous hall. There were other people who had arrived earlier and too they were waiting for the play to start.
A Fascinating Theatrical Performance
The eagerly awaited play was Hamlet – a Shakespeare play based on a tragedy which happened to some royal family. What really fascinated me during the play were the beautifully designed costumes which were used for the play. Whoever had made the choice for those costumes must have been a very innovative person because they clearly depicted the picture of the ancient times and thus made the play so interesting than I had expected.
I also loved the various background choices of music and the acting expertise of the actors. They seemed so confident and I could tell that they knew what they were doing and must have loved what they were doing altogether. I was seated beside my dad all this time through the play and I would ask him a question or two. He also must have felt glad that at last I was appreciating theater plays.
That night after we got home, I couldn’t help but think about the play and most importantly their choice of costume. This made me embark in asking my dad more question. He was eager to help me with whatever information that I needed.
Attending Theaters Made me Realize My Talent
It was the love for Hamlet which made me start accompanying my dad to other theatrical performances and I found each of the plays unique in its own way. They more I attended the events, the more I felt attracted towards drama. This made me join a drama club in school where I started getting more knowledge as we practices.
My dad must have seen my new change and when I was 13, he took me to a drama school where I honed my acting skills. I gained more knowledge for the three years that I was in the school. After school, I played various roles in local theaters, before joining college.
By the time I was in college, it was clearly visible that I loved drama. I used to perform in the college’s drama club and many people loved my expertise in drama. However, dad is the one who appreciates me more and usually encourages me from time to time to soldier on. Today even though I work as a freelance photographer, I’m still an actor in a local drama company and hope that one day I will make it to acting in TV shows.
